ONE ABSURD BIRD

Edmund jumping from a worm's eye view.

Q: So, what's your deal?

A: Basically, Edmund is my fursona since 2015 and onward - for whatever reason I really vibed with the idea of being a fat cartoon bird. So, here we are!

Q: Is Edmund supposed to be any specific kind of bird?

A: Nope! There was a while ago when I was trying to make xir something of a cardinal or a budgie, but I earnestly just prefer xir as a cartoony suggestion of a bird.

Q: Do you have any pet birds?

A: Also no! I've mainly had dogs for pets my whole life and as much as I respond to being an avian furry, I'm not trying to rise to the challenge of caring for a pet I've never cared for before. Maybe someday!

Q: So what brought you to become a furry?

A: I know that it's a mean stereotype that a lot of furries have autism, but I am in fact a furry partially because of autism - as I've been on the periphery of social circles my whole life, it led to acquiring an interest in other things that are on the periphery, like so-called 'subcultures'. Of course, I didn't become a furry proper until I was well out of college, mainly out of cowardice. Let's move on.

Q: What were you in college for?

A: Studio art! I got my BFA in 2012 and, to be blunt, did nothing with it. It was something that was meant to build but everything caved in on me because I didn't have a plan. Long story short, I've been working in retail for a decade since then. I'll probably have an art gallery on here at some point to get all my work centralized since I'm not really feeling any of the major art platforms anymore and my Wix site only helps so much.

Q: Are you in any fandoms?

A: Not really - either because of the aformentioned periphery-staying or just being online for too long, fandoms just sort of make me depressed. I'm thrilled people are having fun, but I'm also not fully convinced a lof of people in fandoms are actually having fun at all. In certain circles it seems more like a chore than anything else.
